‘Stoppp, dont hurt her!’ screamed the tiny heart of a small boy.
His dad, a few steps from his son on call, overheard the commotion in the vegetable market, he was surprised something came out of the quiet of his boy.
Always accepting what’s given, always following what’s told, never an ‘N’ of a No, ever so sensitive. It was hard to believe the roar came from the boy, just to certain himself , his dad looked around for other kids.
No, Its him.
His dad reached to the boy, the boys eyes was fixed on someone in the market, his dad followed his gaze over to a man trying to hurt a dog, ‘Don’t you hurt her!’ he roared again, now more of a command , everyone turned to see him, a five year old with a command! His dad still surprised could not utter a word. The voice of it sounded so similar, like me, thought his dad, Ohh he imitated me!.
The man stopped ashamed, whispered under his breath ‘He was sniffing my vegetables’.
Ignoring his response, The boy eyed the dog who left and turned to his father , held his hand to walk out of the market..
His dad dint ask anything, making a note of mentioning this to his wife. While they reached home at the doorsteps, his son muttered in a low voice ‘Sorry, I tried your voice Dad.. he was hurting her.. and she had babies just feeding on her by the road..’ His dad eyeing him, lowered to his knees to face his son, ‘Son, you did kindness to someone, Always remember, A roar to save someone is the most bravest thing anyone can do!’ He touched his little shoulders and brought his little face up to meet his eyes, ‘You are brave inside! And never be afraid to use that voice again, I can say it works, I’ll definitely use it more often now!! ‘ He winked and his face lit up with sparkling eyes!
The boy smiled to a calling from inside him ‘I’m brave!’
